Join us for the second annual Career Connect Day, a multi-session workshop designed for registered students and early career professionals (ages 18-30) at the H2O Conference.

Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or are already set on diving into a career in ocean, water, or marine science, this event is your chance to discover both traditional and unexpected career pathways in Canada’s Sustainable Blue Economy. Expect interactive sessions, to hear from industry experts, and the chance to learn new skills, all while connecting with fellow early-career ocean professionals.

Get the most out of your time at H2O and learn some essential networking skills to get you started. Navigate pitching oneself effectively, learn key elements of networking, and gain confidence in how to put your best foot forward. Perfect for those who are attending their first conference or want to brush up on their communication skills before diving into full conference mode.

Careers in the Ocean Industry

Discover the vast array of career opportunities within the blue economy from speakers working in industry, non-profit, academia, and from the start-up landscape. This session is an amazing chance to meet industry professionals, hear how they got to where they are today, and see what path in the ocean industry is best for you.

Waves of Innovation: A Youth-Driven Sustainable Blue Economy

Let’s dive into the Sustainable Blue Economy. Join us for an interactive and inspiring session where youth and early-career ocean professionals (ECOPs) share their individual journeys into Canada’s Sustainable Blue Economy. Through open conversation, we’ll explore the real challenges, exciting opportunities, and bold ideas shaping ocean and water-related careers.

You’ll also get to connect with the Blue Futures Pathway program and ECOP Canada, and discover how they’re supporting the next wave of ocean and water leaders.
